Hall proves to be an
interesting venue |
|
 |

MEMBERS of the Museum's Research Group went
to Ford Green Hall, Burslem, on a fact finding mission, on December 15,
2011.
The Museum's Business Manager,
Angela Graham - who knows Ford Green Hall well -
acted as guide.
Members found it very
interesting and it gave them more ideas for the "Two Elizabeths"
exhibition in 2012.
Ford Green Hall was built
in 1624, so just a bit later than Elizabethan, but members saw some
reproduction Tudor items there.
The top picture shows members examining
the various layers on one of the beds, and in the other they try
some carding - teasing out knots in wool.

Visit to Churche's
Mansion |

MEMBERS of the research group on a
visit to Churche's Mansion, on December 9, 2011, examine a wooden Tudor
carving. Mansion owner, Sandy Summers, was very supportive of the group
and gave a good overview of the Mansion and its history.

THE Museum's Research Group was
re-formed in its Friday morning slot in the autumn of 2011.
The hard core of
enthusiasts aims to produce material for the major exhibition
in the Millennium Gallery each summer. It also provides articles
for the Museum's newsletter.
It is a compact group - and
won't become too wieldy so that there is little for individuals to
do. If you think you might be interested, and to find out more,
contact the group's organiser, Andrew Lamberton, through the
enquiries@nantwichmuseum.org.uk e-mail address.
The 2012
main exhibition is
"Nantwich Life under the Two Elizabeths" which will be staged from June 2 to September 1.
