Generous council grant will help our accreditation
WE are pleased to acknowledge a generous grant of £500 from
Nantwich Town Council. This will go a long way towards
paying for the window blinds which were necessary to reduce light levels
in the Museum.
The blinds will protect and preserve exhibits and will help
the Museum to retain its accreditation status.
Responsibility for the accreditation scheme has
passed to Arts Council England.
Accreditation requires that museums meet
basic requirements on how they care for and document their
collections, how they are governed and managed, and on the
information and services they offer to their users.

Could you be a
Museum volunteer?
VOLUNTEERS
are essential to the smooth running of Nantwich Museum. And we have more
than 50 who help with all aspects of our activities, including
front-of-house services and the shop; administration of the collections;
research; education, including work with school groups; town tours;
fundraising and more. We are now looking to increase the team with new
volunteers. If you would like to join the team contact the Museum to
discuss ways you could help. Read more about our volunteers
here. |

Can you display a poster?
Do you know somewhere that would take a
poster for our exhibitions? A shop near to you? The village hall? How
about your
front window? Copies of current posters are now available on the Museum
website. Perhaps you could print one (or more) and have it/them displayed in your
locality. More.

We're
no mugs . . .
BUT we hope we know what our visitors would
like as a souvenir of their visit to the Museum. New in the shop is a
mug featuring the front of the Museum and one of the grandfather clocks
we have on display. More

We've reached our brooch purchase target

AFTER launching an appeal to raise £500 towards the purchase of the
Hurleston
Brooch (pictured) we are delighted to announce that we have received
funding and donations to cover the entire cost of buying the brooch.
The solid gold artefact
is
making an attractive addition to our
existing displays.
Previously, no brooches in the Museum's collection predated the 19th
century.
