Drop in and draw sessions to be piloted

WE will be piloting Drop in and Draw sessions shortly - open to adults who wish to learn a new skill or are interested in drawing.

No previous experience will be needed, and participants do not have to bring anything with them.

The sessions will be held on Saturday, April 14, and Saturday, May 12, between 10.30am and 12 noon. They will be led by a Museum volunteer who used to be an art teacher. He will be conducting the sessions to show how the Museum is a great place for inspiring art work. The Museum's artefacts will help in this.

The sessions will cost £2 and there is no need to book. If they prove to be as popular and successful as we expect we will continue them in the future.

If you need more information send an e-mail to education@nantwichmuseum.org.uk or telephone 01270 627104.

Come and hear the

sound of bagpipes

WE are hosting a special event to mark the first International Bagpipe Day.

A workshop - Discover the Bagpipes - will be staged in the Museum on Saturday, March 10 (2pm to 3pm), featuring performances on a range of bagpipes and demonstrations by a bagpipe maker.

The free event will also feature displays of English bagpipes through the ages and there will be associated storytelling.

But it won't be all about watching the experts. Visitors will be able to try an instrument and learn a traditional dance.

   For more information, e-mail: education@nantwichmuseum.org.uk or Tom.Hughes@cheshirewestandchester,gov.uk.

lThe event is supported by the Bagpipe Society.        Poster
